Australia's two Saratoga species are both impressive looking fish, highly valued as display specimens. Larger fish are best kept on their own, ensure the aquarium is covered as they are expert jumpers. Prefers live foods such as small fish, yabbies and crickets. The majority of saratoga supplied to the aquarium trade is wild caught, and can be irregular in supply depending on conditions in the wild. In nature it commonly grows to 95cm.

Customer Rating Such a wonderful species to adopt. Be aware they're hungry and i now breed guppies and discus to keep up with my saratoga's diet and appetite. I am now a proud owner of two of these beasts recently aquiring my second Sara 8 months ago at a size of 20cm and just over a year old. My first saratoga has reched 45cm now and to keep it active in my outdoor pond, weekly i bring my fly rod out and have a flick in the pond. My older Saratoga loves chasing it around and there is nothing barbless hooks will hurt these days. He is such a great fighter aswell may i add and i recommend anyone looking to have their own little sportfish a few steps from their back door try one of these. Lastly i really express myself when i say these species have a large diet diversity but more importanly a huge appetite and now my sara will take a beef steak over a discus or shrimp anyday. Customer Rating Leichardti are excellent fish and make a great pet for anyone who wants a native predator. Livefish.com put alot of effort into making sure the transaction goes smoothly and in the quality of their stock. They are easy to deal with and with free shipping of these fish, are very quick on the delivery.
My fish arrived in absolutely perfect condition, was active, healthy and not a single fault or defect. Each seratoga has it's own personality, but be aware they can tend to be very aggresive to other fish in a community setup. Be sure to have lids on your aquarium, as the beautiful fish I purchased found a gap and within 3 weeks of my aquiring it jumped to it's demise :( So be careful of this and anyone who purchases this fish will not be dissapointed.
