This is amongst the best kind of gravel to have in any planted aquarium. The rich dark colour of the gravel highlights the fish and intensifies their colour. If you are currently using lighter colour gravels or sand in your aquarium, then you can easily add a thin layer of Iron Stone Gravel on top of your existing gravel. As an added benefit, Iron Stone gravel is iron rich and promotes plant growth. Simply place the gravel around existing aquarium plants to allow them to absorb the nutrients. Supplied size: 1kg bag

One of my son's friends, who can't keep his hands to himself, used the magnetic cleaner and picked up a lot of the iron.
It was only through luck that I noticed this otherwise I would have scratched the inside of my glass.
