This package consists of 100 glass shrimp.
These small shrimp, generally only reaching a maximum size of 2.5cm, are harmless omnivorous scavengers, suitable for any freshwater tank. As you can see, they are completely see-through, meaning that at a glance you can see what they last ate!
They are particularly useful in home aquariums because they love to feed on algae, and keep your tank clean. If there is no algae, the shrimp will eat the leftovers of anything that you feed to your other fish. They are hardy little animals, and can generally take care of themselves.
Glass Shrimp can be viewed as food by larger fish, but if they have plenty of cover in your aquarium, you can give them a good chance of survival in a fish-populated aquarium. As an example, we use them in tanks with our small rainbow fish to control the algae.
Glass Shrimp are very unlikely to cause any harm to even your smallest fish or eggs, and are not really interested in anything moving.
How many should you put in your tank? It is unwise to put much more than 60-100 into a 4 foot tank. They are quite small but with a large number of them they will add to the bio mass in the tank, and if the tank is already loaded with fish it could be too much for your filter system.
Supplied shrimp are around 1-2cm long.

Excellent value for money... Review by Misubisu
Customer Rating I bought these for my small Eastern Long Neck turtles to eat.
They arrived in excellent condition... out of the 100 there was about three that were dead. The packaging was very good indeed.
The turtles ate most of them within a couple of days... there are a couple left in the tank. They must be very quick and crafty to have avoided being dinner!
I will definitely buy these again, as a turtle treat. They are less than half the price of the ones sold by my local pet stores! (Posted on 9/09/11) -
I love these little guys ! Review by Terrina
Customer Rating These little shrimp are fantastic. I initially ordered 10 and some disappeared but the ones that are left are busily eating the black haired algae which has been giving me grief and cleaning the plants. They are also extremely interesting to watch !! I am now going to order 100 :) (Posted on 14/01/11)

Small Species of glass shrimp Review by Richard
The species that live fish will send you seems to be a species smaller than the regular glass shrimp that is usually sold in pet shops. They are very small and would do best in a sheltered tank with other very small fish. Any fish large enough would probably gobble them up.
I have ordered them in order to seed some ponds as they are supposed to be very prolific. I have put them in the outdoor pond and it will be awhile before i can tell if they have taken well to the pond or not.
The ones i put in a tank disappeared without a trace and i do not know if they are still there, hiding in the rocks, or if they died. let's say if its excitement you want in your tank, glass shrimp are not exactly a source of entertainment. (Posted on 25/10/10)
