Danios are by far one of the best beginner fish species, they come in a wide range of colours, patterns, stay very small and are cold-water tolerant. One of these amazing species is the Leopard Danio which is an absolute stunner amongst the danio species. These small fish have bold colours with an almost gold undertone and an array of opal blue spots all through their body. They have a very metallic look which makes leopard danios shimmer and glow under aquarium lighting. Leopard danios are also great schooling fish that add a tonne of life to the tank and frequently stick to the upper portions of the aquarium.

Nice healthy fish to fill the top of your tankOrdered 5 all arrived alive and coloured up with 30mins. Love schooling at the top of the tank and playing in the bubbles from the air filter and in the current from the overhead pump. Good size I think I have 3 females and 2 males. Great little staple fish for the tank.

Active and like to splash above the surface! These guys dart around the surface and I had one jump out of the tank, luckily I found him before it was too late and he soon recovered and was back to normal speeding around. I have since covered the tank, but I seem to be missing one. he may be hiding but it seems unusual because the others are so active! They are not yet as vibrant as the picture but I'm hoping they will colour up in a few days.

Beautiful little fishAll 6 arrived pale and panicked, but started regaining colour within moments of the bag being placed in the water.
1 had me worried by resting on the bottom of the bag while the other 5 zipped madly around the bag, but after being let out seems fine.
Colouring is less purple than the photo but still a beautiful fish.
Probably should have gotten more.Posted on

welll coloured, hardy fisha very hardy fish. always active. do not keep with larger fish as they may get eaten. sometime you fill find one just drop dead for no apparent reason.
These fish are best kept in a school of at least 5 or so. they have exellent colouration and this is enhanced by the feeding of live foods such as mosquito larvae.Posted on

Hardy spritely fishThe Leopard Zanio is a delightful, very active fish. I have mine in a tank (180litre) with other peaceful fish including a fighter and they fit in just fine mostly accommodating the top/mid level of the tank. They go crazy and speed up when the filter pump comes on as they love the current. Even though they appear to be a "dull" coloured fish they look awesome under lights and because they move so much they really liven up the tank.
