Kribensis

Kribensis 5cm

Pelvicachromis Pulcher
Rating:
90% of 100

The Kribensis cichlid is an incredibly overlooked but downright beautiful African cichlid. Unlike most African cichlids that require alkaline water conditions, the kribensis can thrive in lower ph environments similar to those of South American cichlids. Because of this adaptation they often make for a great alternative to dwarf South American cichlids and still have vibrant colouration. The other great benefit to kribensis is that they stay fairly small, are easy to care for, and breed really easily which makes them a great fish for aquarists that are looking to enter the cichlid world.

  1. Settled in well

Got 4 of these & 4 Bolivian butterflies. 2 kribs paired off immediately & have nominated themselves the Bosses. They have been in for a couple of weeks now & the Bosses appear to be getting ready to breed.....chase everything, but casually try to ignore the 2 Girls ( the 6 & 10cm bristlenoses who have been residents for 2 years with a handful of pond platys in my heavily planted tank) All 4 fish were much bigger than 4cm & there is 2 males & 2 females - the less dominant pair are just starting to get into breeding colours and socialise better with the butterflies, so am considering removing the Bosses to another tank with less to harass.
