Jack Dempsey is a criminally underrated South American cichlid. They are one of the most naturally vibrant cichlids with an array of purple, blue, green, and black which is something that is almost exclusive to these fish. These cichlids reach around 25 cm and are incredibly hardy, and cheap and make for a fantastic entry-level cichlid compared to the more conventional species like Oscars.

Jack DempseyI got two of them and r doing great in my 4ft tank I will be upgrading to a 8 ft tank soon as this fish can grow to 12inch and gets 14 in the wild. A bit bossy to each other but dont bite the other fish. Thay have great colour and personality. Males have mor colour on the body almost 2 Times that of a female but females have more colour on the face. I love this fish. :)

Love itJD arrived healthy. Took a little while to become accustomed to tank but it's to be expected with the species. Fabulous addition to the tank. Tones of personality!
