The tiger barb is one of the worlds most popular and easily recognised tropical aquarium fish species because of its colours, tight schooling behaviour and the larger size it gets to in comparison to other commonly available tetras in the hobby however it is a member of the barb species meaning it is closely related to species like torpedo barbs and rosy barbs. Tiger barbs get their name due to the classic orange and black colouration they sport along with the apparent tiger stripes.

Great looking fishReceived 5 of them today, unfortunately one was doa, another was extremely close as well. Laid flat in the bag and tank shortly after being transferred, actually thought he was dead, but gradually seems to have gotten better. Now it's schooling with the other 3 instead of sitting at the corner of the tank and looking a lot more active.

Great looking little guys, definitely a winner!Received 5 of these little guys yesterday (Friday) after they were sent on Wednesday, along with 10 Zebra Danios and all fish were alive and happy when they got to me! They were very pale when they arrived but literally as soon as i put their bags in the tank to become accustom to the temperature they regained their colour! As soon as they were in the tank, they were darting around and playing, their colour is spectacular, and they have great personalities! Will definitely be using livefish again!
