Gouramis are peaceful fish that do well in most community aquaria. They require a tank that is 40 litres or larger. They are usually found swimming in the middle to top regions of the aquarium. This is not surprising since the Gourami is a labyrinth fish. That is, Gouramis can breathe oxygen from the air through their Labyrinth (organ) (like the Betta) if necessary. It is important, therefore that the surface of the water be exposed to fresh air. This is usually accomplished by using a hood that allows air ventilation. If you are using good air pumps, this is not always needed, since the air pumps will refresh the air above the water. Gouramis live for about four years but with proper care can live longer.

Beautiful little fishMy fish arrived less than 24 hours after receiving the shipping notification which I think is impressive as I live in a rural town in country Victoria.
They were all very healthy and in great condition on arrival. They settled in very quickly after I put them in my tank (4 foot planted).
She is a very pretty bright blue colour and silvery in the light when swimming.
She explores all areas of the tank from top to bottom; I've even seen her swim through the cave/log at the bottom of the tank that I put there for my catfish. She'll eat food at all areas of the tank from surface to bottom, and even food that lands on my Amazon Sword plant leaves.
She's very peaceful, inquisitive and active and outgoing as well. I've seen no sign of aggression from her at all in my community tank.
