Discus are shy and generally peaceful aquarium inhabitants. They are sensitive to stress and disturbance or lack of protection. The best cohabitants may be angelfish and small characides like tetras. It is noteworthy, however, that small fish may be intimidated or eaten by the discus. Catfish with sucker mouths are less than ideal cohabitants for discus since they sometimes attach themselves on the sides of the discus and eat their mucus membranes.

Took a long time to settle but now fiesty!I've taken a while to write my review because my pigeon blood discus arrived very pale and shy and took 5 weeks to start eating! I can't imagine how it survived until then, but somehow it did. It always seemed healthy, but incredibly shy and didn't recognise my foods. One day I stumbled apon the reason, it liked only black worms! I'm guessing these were it's main food before and I rarely use them, the ones I use are dried, but it got used to this very quickly. Now it eats with the others and even trying new foods, the colours are brightened and it is fiesty. I am so glad because it's a lovely looking discus, hasn't got the pattern entirely over the whole body yet, I'm hoping this will improve with age. What it has got looks very promising. Happy with the packaging and service as usual. Thanks Livefish :)

Great Fish and ServiceFish arrived safely today and has fitted straight in with the other discus. Colours are a little faint still but give him time. Couldn't be happier with livefish.com.au for service.
