Black Phantom Tetra

Black Phantom Tetra 3cm

Hyphessobrycon Megalopterus
Rating:
95% of 100
The Black Phantom tetra is a beautifully striking species that comes from South America. These are bold-looking tetra and will be a great schooling species for a community or even a biotope system. This fish is usually overshadowed by the more common species like neons or cardinals but will make for a great, slightly larger growing. Their delicate look, peaceful nature, and active behaviour really do make them the perfect fish to add some volume to a system.

  1. Healthy and gorgeous fish
    100%
I got these fish the day after they were shipped and they looked really healthy. Less than 24 hours after I put them in their tank, they coloured up beautifully. 10/10 will come back to get new fish

  2. Nice phantom
    100%
Got five of these beauties. One died, poor little bugger. The rest are strong and beautiful. Happy little fellas who are getting along with everyone else in the tank ( neons, golden clouds, rasbs, suckers, Cory's, bettas, bn cat, and glass shrimp). Good community fish and seems to be hardy as well.

  3. Rewarding and underrated
    100%
I bought a single one of these as a beginner because the look appealed to me, but as I've become a more seasoned aquarist they have become one of my favourite features of the tank. They are much more active and impressive in a small group and their behaviour and displays are interesting to watch. They can also be active at feeding time when you vary the diet, with fast dashes to their food and taking flakes from the surface with a lot of vigour! Recommended for any community or tetra-based tank and preferred over the similar looking black widows!

I have 2 of these in my tank , i only got them because my mum liked them but after puting them in my tank i have really grown on them and I'm going to buy more because they a cool to watch swim around the tank in a group and so they feel safer in a bigger school.
