The Bala Shark or Silver Shark has an attractively colored silver body. The fins and tail have a white or golden area with a broad black edge.
Though the Bala Shark or Silver Shark look imposing, especially since they can get rather large, they are not aggressive and make a good community fish. They can even be kept with smaller fish. It is a lively fish that may jump so keep the aquarium covered. They have been known to make audible sounds.
These fish prefer a larger aquarium and lots of swimming space. Place plants around the inside edges of the perimeter and use wood for the decor. Though they will pick up leftover foods from the bottom of the aquarium, they do so daintily with very little disturbance to the substrate or the plants.

Great Fish Review by Michael
Customer Rating I bought this silver shark as a buddy for my other. He's a bit smaller at the moment but he's doing very well in the tank with tetra's and chichlids. Happy with the purchase :) (Posted on 12/10/11)

Silverys Review by Chris
Customer Rating Very peaceful fish look good when on the move like a shark, I'm a bit disappointed in the growth rate which seems very slow compared to the other species in my tank which is a 6ft 500L so I don't know what the issue is (any feedback on growth rate is welcome) as mentioned above my two both make audible noises when eating algae wafers or cleaning rocks I gather it's their teeth ???
