The Barb is an active, colourful and popular aquarium fish. They are easy to feed, taking a wide variety of foods including dried food.
Barbs will command your attention! They enjoy swimming all over the tank at breakneck pace. Like many tropical fish, the male is generally more colourful, while the female is less colourful.
Barbs will school when in a group of at least five or six, and are less likely to bother other fish when in a group together. Many species are considered unsuitable in aquaria with slow-moving, long-finned tankmates.

Recommended schooling fish Review by Junecoo
Customer Rating Not had striped bards before & we're very pleased with them. The 8 I bought are doing really well, coloured up, getting around togther - great, schooling fish & bigger than many barbs, tetras & such, so suit a tank with larger fish. A couple of smaller rainbow fish that don't have any others of their type often swim with the barbs, so they must be nice fish! :)) (Posted on 5/03/11)

These fish are a welcome addition to my large fish community tank. Review by Richard
Customer Rating When i bought the striped barbs i did not realize they were a relatively large species. I put them in my large american and african cichild display tank, and they have adapted beautifully to the community. They stay mostly in the middle level of the tank and swim in a school. They eat anything and are thriving. They are peaceful, attractive and a welcome addition to any large fish community tank. (Posted on 25/10/10)
