The Barb is an active, colourful and popular aquarium fish. They are easy to feed, taking a wide variety of foods including dried food.
Barbs will command your attention! They enjoy swimming all over the tank at breakneck pace. Like many tropical fish, the male is generally more colourful, while the female is less colourful.
Barbs will school when in a group of at least five or six, and are less likely to bother other fish when in a group together. Many species are considered unsuitable in aquaria with slow-moving, long-finned tankmates.

cherry barbs are great with other smaller fish Review by Richard
Customer Rating I am housing them in a south american tank with adult angelfish and other small fish, and they do well. Some species of barbs are fin nippers but cherry barbs do not seem to bother my angelfish at all. They also coexist nicely with neon tetras and danios.
They eat just about anything and are not finicky about water conditions. (Posted on 25/10/10) -
Suit a dark background to trully show their colours Review by Adam Mills
Customer Rating A perfect option for anyone wishing to move away from tetras into something more active and visually appealing.
So far i am yet to see any evidence of fin nipping on other fish. Suit a dark background to trully show their colours (Posted on 16/07/10)
