This colour form of the Kangaroo Creek Doublayi rainbow has been quite popular in the aquarium hobby. The scales are almost all metallic blue, as show in the close-up view of their scales above.
These fish come from South East Queensland and can tolerate much lower temperatures than the species of rainbows from the northern parts of Australia. In their natural habitat the water temperatures during winter can be as low as 15C in some of the smaller water holes.

Customer Rating Attractive & active. Unfortunately I only received 2 of the 4 ordered so I don't get the schooling I'd hoped for, & they're quite small. In fact they've hooked up with the similarly-sized striped bards & swim around with them most of the time. (Posted on 5/03/11)

i feed mine blood worns and choped up yabby tails and they love freshly hatched crickets
