Why not add some of these friendly fellows to your aquarium?
Freshwater crayfish make spectacular aquarium specimens.
Relatively easy to keep, crays can be fed on small pieces of meat, earthworms, small pieces of carrot peel and the occasional piece of green vegetable matter, such a lettuce leaf, that has had its cell structure broken by freezing. A clean piece of heavy old wood, perhaps a bit of mallee root, will also be appreciated, and chewed on.

These guys are fantastic Review by Linh Nguyen
Customer Rating These guys are fantastic at eating any left-over food that drops to the bottom of the tank. However, I've noticed that many of my smaller fish, (esp. tetras) have disappeared, as well as some of their larger tankmates (to date: 1 platy, 1 small angelfish, a couple of guppies, and 1 danio). Keep them well-fed, and with tankmates that a. outsize them, and b. will fight back. (Posted on 6/06/10)

fascinating creatures Review by tom goodhand
Customer Rating they are fascinating creatures but be careful keeping them in a community tank as they will attack docile fish - especially at night (Posted on 6/06/10)
