Details

This small scaleless species comes from a Lake Inle in Burma. Once settled in, the males should start to show their characteristic red noses, and red tipped tails with the Silvery/blueish body. Females are a silvery/ blueish colour all over. Best kept in a small group with other peaceful fish. Burmese Rummynose can handle from neutral/hard, to moderately hard water, and seem to show less colour if kept in soft water. Colour can also depend on tank surroundings and lighting in the tank. Fully grown they can reach about 4cm.

New fish
Arrived happy and alive. I ordered two types of tetras, cant tell which is which as they were all white but their swimming happily in tank and slight colour returning after an hour so i can sort of make out the difference. Once again stoked with Live fish.

military subs or Burmese dancers...
Love these fish, ordered group of 10 qhich arrived in very good shape?, 12 hours after safe arrival several males coloured up to steel blue sheen with light orange nose and red tail tips, and a pair had started a very moving synchonised swimming with male matching female from below, really something to see. Their behaviour is not schooling so much as the more common Rummynose, males strike out and explore, females stay quieter . Beautifil fish, feeding well on flake, daphnia and no trouble with Endlers, Rams, corys, Hengli rasbora, bristlenose, loaches, bumblebee gobies, whiptails.

They look nice
Bought ten of these, 4 males and 6 females arrived.
Female plain in colour, males blue with orange on face and tail.
Blue not quiet as bright as picture but still a good colour and very nice looking fish IMO. Google the name and plenty of pictures will show you the more softer shade of blue that my males have.
Good service and nice healthy fish.

Great little Fish
I guess photos are hard to judge from, especially with this species! The 10 i ordered all arrived alive, coloured up after a few days, very nicely.
The males appear to have more red in the tail in my tank

I keep them with discus & my only regret with them is that i did not order 30, so the school would be bigger & better

Rummynose
I ordered these last year. Have finally decided to write a review on them.

Also to put a lid on the complaints of them being uncolored. To those that received uncolored Rummynose, the reason for this is because the fish you received are female. To be safe you should order at least 10 at a time to ensure you at least get 4-5 males which are the colorful ones.

Also they will only color up if your tank conditions are good and healthy. For me and my planted aquarium all arrived uncolored but within 2 hours the males started to show their blue and orange. At present they pretty much look like the pictures above - except the females of course which are just plain silver in color. But really if your tank conditions are not right they will always be shy from stress and will not color (that is assuming you have any males at all)

Unfortunately being in this hobby you take the good with the bad I personally don't mind the females bland colors as it's all part of nature.

Rummy Nose
The fish its self arrived un coloured and to this day hasen't coloured up, would of been nice if they where shipped coloured or atleast told they come with out colour. Just a small tip, but still no colour.

Apart from that, all four fish arrived alive. Good service and good packaging.

Cool Fish
I ordered five of these guys, have four left after the smallest female that arrived died.

Still waiting and hoping that the males develop the vibrant blue colour as seen in these pics.

All in all though they are a great addition to the tank.

Fairly dull, but placid
The female is quiite a plain fish, but the male has great colour when you can get it to come out. Very shy fish. Like to hang around the plants and driftwood. I bought 4, 3 females and 1 male. My male was eaten by my long-armed shrimp and now the others are just plain decoration

Fantastic service
Asked for 6 of these guys among 11 other fish. Love them. From the Eastern States to Port Hedland in the West is hard enough trip for humans!! All fish were healthy and happy after a very short time.Great service!!

BURMESE RUMMYNOSE
All arrived timely and alive. They look the part once they regain color after transport shock, though not as blue as the pictures I've still got my fingers crossed :D

Either way they have a lot of character and really add to the excitement in the tank.
